COVID-19: J&K Records 3 deaths as toll reaches 31 | KNO

Srinagar, June 01 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir on Monday recorded three Covid-19 deaths taking the total number of COVID-19 deaths to 31. Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that with the fresh three deaths, the number of COVID deaths in J&K have reached 31 of which 27 are from Kashmir division and four from Jammu division. Officials said that three new deaths include a 70-year-old man from Kachdoora area of Shopian, 45-year-old man from Ramnagri, Shopian and 42-year-old man from Doda. Dr Jammeel Ahmad Mir, Medical Superintendent District hospital Pulwama told KNO that a 70- year-old man from Hanjipora, Kachdoora, belt of Shopian district were brought dead to district hospital Pulwama on Monday morning after which his samples for Covid-19 were taken. His body was kept in hospital mortuary and is being handed over to his family as per covid-19 protocol, he said. Dr Farooq Jan Medical Superintendent SKIMS told KNO that a 45-year old man from Shopian who was admitted at the hospital on Sunday and later samples were taken. The patient who was having many underlying problems expired on during night and his samples came positive on Monday afternoon. Doctors from GMC Jammu said that a 72-year-old man from Doda who was tested positive for covid-19 on Sunday died at GMC Jammu on Monday afternoon. They said that patient had multiple underlying problems including heart ailments—(KNO)
